Canonical Unveils A Well-Polished Ubuntu 13.04

A lot of anticipation has surrounded the latest version of Ubuntu, namely Raring Ringtail. Canonical released the beta version of Raring Ringtail earlier and has now finally lifted the wraps off the full release. The new version, numbered Ubuntu 13.04, is available for download.

The best thing about Ubuntu 13.04 is that rather than packing it with a whole lot of new features, Canonical has apparently focused on the need to refine its code and make it more efficient and useful. So although Ubuntu 13.04 doesn’t bring in a whole plethora of new features, it does bring an excellent Linux experience to your machine.

Canonical claims that Raring Ringtail offers ‘the fastest and most visually polished Ubuntu experience to date.’ One of the key features of the new release is that it brings great responsiveness to your system. Compared to earlier versions of Ubuntu, Raring Ringtail comes with far better memory consumption and is able to streamline the entire OS in a better manner.

Interestingly, one of the key reasons why Canonical has put so much effort into this new release may also be that the company may eventually use its features in the mobile OS. Ubuntu 13.04 is already available for download from Ubuntu’s official website. Developers will find a preview SDK as part of the release so that they can develop and test new apps on it.
