Corsair HS1 Gaming Headset

Corsair relised High performance USB headset HS1.It is a ideal headset for anyone who is serious about gaming and audio…

For some people, the association of Corsair and quality PC components is so strong that they’d buy anything that bears the triple sail logo. It makes perfect sense, therefore, for the company that made its name by producing memory sticks to diversify its portfolio even further, this time into gaming headsets, with the introduction of the HS1.

Corsair says that their 50mm drivers are far superior to the typical 40mm driver, delivering a distortion free gaming experience. The HS1 also sports a unidirectional noise canceling microphone, and Dolby Headphone surround sound built into the closed back ear covering design. There’s also the standard in-line volume and microphone control, and memory foam earcups covered in leatherette. Corsair does promise that the Dolby Headphone technology will deliver a true surround sound experience, even when listening to a Blu-ray 7.1 stereo input.

The HS1 is loaded with features designed to optimize your gaming experience. The 50mm drivers provide more accurate sound reproduction and far lower distortion than is produced by smaller, more typical drivers. The circumaural, closed-back design helps reject ambient noise and keeps you in the game, even in high-distraction environments like LAN parties. Replaceable memory foam ear pads provide a reliable, comfortable fit that conforms to the shape of your head without binding or pinching. The uni-directional noise-cancelling microphone on an adjustable boom enables clear, low-noise voice chat. The end result is a headset that simply provides a superior gaming experience.

The Corsair Gaming Audio Series HS1 USB Gaming headset is available immediately from Corsair’s authorized distributors and resellers worldwide. It is supplied with a two year warranty, and is backed up by Corsair’s highly regarded customer service and technical support.

Aside from the larger than usual drivers, we’re not seeing anything particularly unique here, but that ethereal quality component is rarely apparent on black and white fact sheets. Macintosh users  beware — this headset is essentially incompatible with Skype on the Mac. You’ll need to set this to the minimum volume, and that’s really too loud for comfortable use. One click above minimum and you’re into the pain threshold. The headset is very comfortable, just don’t dare turn it on. 😐
