Google Glasses Spotted In FCC Filing

Google seems to be hard at work at its Project Glass. The search giant had promised that it would be making its smart glasses available for developers shortly. A commercial rollout can be expected somewhat later. A recent FCC filing now reveals many such details about Google Glasses which were unknown as of yet.

It was only a matter of time before Google Glasses ended up in FCC filings. The company needs the node from the regulatory agency before it can go forth with a release for developers.

The model number of the Glasses, as cited in the FCC filing, is ‘XEB’ and the specifications of this model are that it will pack a 2.4GHz processor and Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth 4.0. However, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi won’t be able to function simultaneously – in other words, if the users wishes to communicate through either of these features, the other feature won’t function as long as his communication continues.

Apart from the aforementioned details, the FCC filing doesn’t include anything significant which is not already known about these glasses. Nonetheless, the filing goes on to show that Google is trying to live up to the schedule it had chalked of the release of these glasses. So if you are a developer, you should really look forward to a pair you could lay your hands on pretty soon.
