Flappy Bird Creator Considers Bringing Back The Addictive Game

After Flappy Bird was pulled from the App Store and Google Play, we thought this may be it. But its creator has more tricks up his sleeves and now says that he is considering bringing back the game.

Flappy Bird

Dong Nguyen, the creator of the wildly popular Flappy Bird game which shot to the top of app charts within days, is somewhat of a mystery himself. He has turned out to be a shy person, refusing most interviews and trying to stay away from the press and limelight. According to him, the endless nagging of media personnel was one reason why he pulled the app from the online app marketplaces.

However, Nguyen is now back in the news, thanks to a feature interview with Rolling Stone. In the interview, he reiterates his stance that another reason why he pulled the game was simply that it had become very addictive for many users. Nguyen was apparently affected particularly by responses about the games by parents who were worried about their kids spending too much time on it.

As it turns out, Nguyen once failed in high school tests because was playing too much Counter Strike. This made him relate with the complaints about the addiction of the game. In the interview, he further revealed that he is now considering bringing back the game. However, it will come with warnings such as ‘Please take a break’ to ensure that users do not spend a lot of time on it.
