Tomb Raider

The storyline and game plot of Tomb Raider 2013 is completely new to the series. It is about the origin of Tomb Raider Lara Croft; how she turns into hard core Tomb Raider from an innocent girl. The game starts at an isolated tropical island of Dragon’s Triangle where Endurance, the ship in which Lara was traveling, crashed after being hit by a violent storm. Now it will be up to Lara to survive in the Island facing dangerous animals and brutal mercenaries, and find the rest of the survivors.

Tomb Raider 2013 is an open world action-adventure role-playing game. The whole game is directed by Cory Barlog with Noah Hughes as the creative director. Darrell Gallagher is the designer of the game levels and characters. The game art is done by Visual Works (CGI). The game storyline is written by Rhianna Pratchett. According to a post on 26 June 2012, the voice of Lara Croft was given by Camilla Luddington, instead of Keeley Hawes- Lara’s previous voice artist.

The graphic quality of the game is also enhanced than its earlier releases. Crystal Dynamics confirms to use heavily modified Crystal Engine to bring changes and make environment more realistic into game level design. The PEGI game rating of Tomb Raider 2013 is 18 and will be available only in single player mode after release.

The game is available for pre-order at Amazon.

Tomb Raider fans may or may not love the new character who has stolen the name of Lara Croft. However a young semi-American dumbed down non-aristocratic version of Lara has little or nothing to do with the iconic British character they seem to be trying to (disrespectfully) trash. Angie must be rolling in the her grave.
