A number of accessories for Android-based gaming have surfaced in the recent past. Samsung has now added to that list by unveiling the new GamePad controller, meant to be used with Android smartphones.

Samsung has packed some really stunning looks in the GamePad controller. It is a nifty gadget with a great design and you can connect any Android handset sized between 4 and 6.3-inches to it. The controller aims to offer mobile gaming to Android users so that no matter where they are, all they would need to do is snap out their smartphone and start the gaming-on-the-go spree.

The company says that the controller is compatible with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and above. At the same time, it has been optimized for such Samsung devices which run Android 4.3 or above. In other words, you will get the best gaming experience on this controller on a recent Samsung handset such as Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4.

The GamePad controller also support games such as Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Asphalt 8: Airborne. Samsung promises that a whole lot more games will soon be supported. The best thing about this gadget is that you can hook it up with a high-definition TV using the HDMI port. This way, you can transport your Android gaming to a huge screen and get the most out of it.

When playing on your handset, you can also connect with the controller using Bluetooth or NFC. The controller itself comes with a Play button, which launches a Mobile Console app on your smartphone. You need to install the app before you get the fun going. There’s an eight way D-Pad on the front of the controller which includes four action buttons, 2 trigger buttons as well as ‘Select’ and ‘Start’ buttons. It looks quite sleek and is aptly sized to be used with smartphones.
