Xbox 720 Requires Internet Connection And Will Come With Blu-Ray Player

While we definitely do not expect Microsoft’s next gaming console, Xbox 720, to be unveiled any time this year, this hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from churning reports about it. Now, yet another rumor claims that Xbox 720, which has been codenamed ‘Durango’,  will come with a Blu-Ray player and will require an internet connection all the time while you use it.

Microsoft and other big-wigs of the game console industry such as Sony have been actively trying to work a model so that resale of console games could be stopped. And now, this move from Microsoft, though rumored, will make perfect sense. Essentially, an internet connection would simply mean that you will have to get the games which will come tethered to the console profile. So, there won’t be no resale of such a game.

A number of other features have also being rumored to be in Xbox 720. These include a Blu-Ray player as well as two GPUs which will be as powerful as two PCs together. The console will also have a built-in Kinect sensor. Given Microsoft’s statements and given the fact that so far, the company has revealed from little to nothing about the console, we can be pretty sure that Xbox 720 will probably hit the shelves sometime during Christmas next year.
