MuscleNerd just sent out a tweet that the unlock will not be released before iOS 4.2.5 or iOS 4.3.That means if iOS 4.3 comes out after 4.2.5 then unlock will be released only after iOS 4.3. On Side note iOS 4.2.5 is the firmware version of Verizon iPhone 4 and iOS 4.3 Beta 1 is already out for developers. If you are on iPhone 4 baseband 02.10.04 / 03.10.01 so you should wait for iOS 4.2.5 or iOS 4.3 released.

So it is highly likely that iOS 4.3 will be unified iOS for both GSM & CDMA iPhone 4 & iPhone 3GS. It makes sense to release unlock only after the firmware which comes last.

I think they are not talking about IP4 unlock. But 3g and 3gs. Noone sed a word about iPhone 4 bb 02.10.04 being unlocked. It may be a earlier bb unlock using firmware update with perserving the old bb. I lost any ililusion that they are ever going to do it realy.

i dont trust that soon the unlock for new base band is going to release..better sell the iphone and get a new factory unlocked phones.. this is my suggestion for those who r waiting 4 d unlock since long.. according to me they cant unlock iphone 4 if they manage to unlock this then also it i will have many issues..

Only problem Apple already have the money for the iPhone and by selling it someone else will just use it. Instead if Apple don’t let us unlock our handsets we should all go to the HQ and through our iPhone through the windows! But then Apple will most likely pick up the pieces and just sell them as spares. Theres no stopping them…or just don’t upgrade till an unlock comes out…though still think a day trip to HQ will be fun,
