The instructions are as follows.

Step 1: Install Backboard from Cydia.
Step 2: Make sure you have created a “Default” backup, if not, press the add button in Backboard and give it a name.
Step 3: Go on your device and click on this link: backboard
Step 4: Press “Yes” and wait for it to download. This may take a few minutes depending on your internet connection.
Step 5: Select OS7 from Backboard. Press Install. Respring.

    DONT USE THIS I HAVE A IPHONE 3G 8GIG ON 4.2.1 AND IT INSTALLED FINE BUT AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF AWESOME USE MY IPHONE CRASHED AND THEN RESTARTED AND RUNS SOOOOOOOOOOOO SLOW THAT YOU CANNOT UNLOCK THE PHONE BEFORE IT CRASHES AGAIN AND AGAIN TRIED TO DO A RESTORE AND ITUNES CAN NO LONGER RESTORE THE DEVICE. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PIECE OF SHIT SOFTWARE AT SUCH A HIGH RISK IT ISNT WORTH THE LOSS EVEN IF IT DOES WORK FOR OTHERS DO YOU REALLY WANT TO RISK YOUR IPHONE OR IPOD?

    I had the same problem all I did was take off iprotect sbsettings and pretty much all my stuff then followed all the instructions and added everything back I have an iPod touch 2g as well
