DigiTimes dispels rumors of a 4-inch iPhone 5 display but says the panel could get slightly bigger, which combined with a thinner bezel, will make the screen look larger and the ouchscreen panel of the next iPhone will be less than 4-inch or 3.5- to 3.7-inch. The current iPhone 4 has a 3.5-inch screen, in comparison and the iPhone 5 will be designed with a thinner bezel to make the screen appear larger…………….
Contrary to previous reports that suggested Apple’s next-generation iPhone would include a 4.2-inch touch screen panel and the report comes from the imaginative folks over on DigiTimes which cite upstream panel supplier which have supposedly revealed that the iPhone 5’s panel size will be less than 4-inch. This points towards a possible 3.7-inch display which will be achieved by ensuring that the display bezel is as thin as possible and these would make the next generation iPhone’s display an edge-to-edge one. Apple actually announces the next-generation iPhone itself but rumors of a larger-screen’d iPhone and previous reports have suggested a 4-inch display which, well, sound like a better idea to us than 3.7-inch one which is only a marginal improvement. In other iPhone 5 related news, there are reports flying around which suggest that the iPhone 5 will not only be available on Sprint but on T-Mobile as well! This would certainly help Apple strengthen their position against Android smartphones as the leading smartphone manufacturer. The iPhone 5 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks with a release scheduled for late September or sometime in October. It is stated that the back would be made out of metal instead of glass.
