New iPhone Will Have A Larger Screen – At Least 4 Inches Diagonally

We have been hearing a lot of news regarding the new iPhone as we move towards its expected launch later this year. Sometime about now, Apple has finalized the product and is planning to ramp up the production of the device. Wall Street Journal is reporting that based on these orders for the production of the device, it has been revealed that the new iPhone will have a display measuring at least 4 inches diagonally.

In the last flagship iPhone model of Apple, iPhone 4S, the display size measures 3.5 inches. So far, Apple has stuck to rather conservative screen sizes despite the fact that its rival, Samsung, has been rolling out devices with much larger display sizes.

Apple is working with a number of vendors to furnish displays for its new iPhone. These vendors include Sharp from Japan, LG Display from South Korea and Japan Display. Given the fact that Samsung only recently unveiled Galaxy S III with a 4.8-inch display, this has put up a new challenge to Apple to make the display of the next iPhone as enticing as that of S III.

However, Apple’s iPhone is much more than its display and usually people who buy into Apple products buy into an entire Apple ecosystem. So even if Apple chooses not to make significant changes to the iPhone display, it will still be enhancing the hardware and that will be enough to hook up millions of users.

Reports have it that Apple have also been actively testing out alternate screen sizes for iPad. We have also heard rumors about a mini iPad in the past. So far, these rumors haven’t panned out, so for now, we will remain sceptical of the news about an iPad with different screen size.
