Pegatron to Start iPhone 5 Shipments this September [Report]

Lately, we have been hearing a lot of rumors about the upcoming iPhone 5. Some say that it will be released this October and test units have been sent to carriers inside highly secured boxes and are only available for technicians and other officials for testing purpostes. While others are of the opinion that Apple will be launching iPhone 5 at their next media event in September. This is not it, clones of the devices even emerged in Chine before the launch of the original device.

Some recent reports from Digitimes suggest that Apple placed an order of around 10m iPhone 5 units to Pegatron and the shipment of those orders will begin in September.

Pegatron Technology has landed orders for 10 million units of iPhone 5 to become the second ODM of the smartphone. Shipments will start in September, according to industry sources.

As iPhone gross margins are relatively small, Pegatron aims to compete for orders for iPad, MacBook Air and other Apple products and has increased production equipment and employment, the sources said.

If you have been following the news lately related to all iPhone 5 Rumors, some news emerged last month as well form the same source which suggested that Pegatron received orders of around 15M units for Apple upcoming smartphone. However, the recent reports have decreased the number from 15M to 10M units.

Past few weeks have brought many different reports and rumors about the upcoming iPhone 5 and its hard to believe which one is true. If you ask me, I cant be really sure about all these reports until and unless there is any official announced about the launch. There is no doubt that many sources which released reports and rumors about the device were correct in the past but still.
