[Rumor] iPhone 6 Will Pack 4.8-Inch Display

Apple is yet to unveil what is being touted as ‘iPhone 5S’, the next anticipated smartphone release from the company. However, analysts are already speculating about iPhone 6, which will not arrive until late next year. According to Citi Research, iPhone 6 may pack a 4.8-inch display.

In a note written to its investors, Citi Research has claimed that the production of upcoming iPhone 5S has been delayed by a few weeks. The report further notes that this delay will not affect the official release of the device which is expected in September this year. However, Apple may decide to offer iPhone 5S in limited numbers at the time of its launch.

As for iPhone 6, the note says that the handset will be packing a 4.8-inch display, much larger than the current iPhone 5. This may be a move Apple will inevitably take, given the competition from the likes of Samsung. However, there is no mention as to whether or not iPhone 5S may also see a bump in display size. Other analysts in the past have stated that Apple is expected to keep the display size constant when moving on to iPhone 5S.

The report further cites that Apple has also been working on an iPad mini with Retina display but that the tablet has been delayed, with an expected release during the fourth quarter of 2013. Rumors from other quarters of the tech industry also indicate that Apple may move down the release of Retina iPad mini to November this year.
