Screenshots Of iOS 5.1 Pre-GM Build Leaked: Camera Slider On Home Page

We have been hearing about the possible release of iOS 5.1 soon. Most probably, and this view is condoned by many tech enthusiasts and experts, iOS 5.1 will come along with the release of iPad 3 which is expected in March. A Portuguese blog has now released some images which it claims are the screenshot of iOS 5.1 pre-GM build. The blog says that it has received the images from a local carriers. From the screenshots, it can be seen that the new iOS will be bringing some interesting additions.

First of all, the screenshot, if it is indeed authentic, clearly shows that iOS 5.1 will be bringing support for Japanese on Siri. This is definitely very exciting news for Japanese users who have been waiting for the support for Japanese on Apple’s Siri.

Another interesting thing in iOS 5.1 is that the home screen contains a new camera button. Originally, in earlier iOS version, a user has to double click the home button which, in turn, reveals the camera button which can then be clicked and user can then start using the camera. But in the leaked screenshots, all you have to do to start using the camera is to slide up the camera button on the home screen. And that’ll take you straight to the camera.

Although iOS 5.1 is expected to debut on iPad 3, if this rumor is correct, this would mean that iPad will be finally getting Siri, a feature that has been anxiously waited for by iPad users.
