Google And Samsung Launch $249 Chromebook

Google’s Chromebook hasn’t been much of  a success in the notebook arena. But the search giant seems intent on pushing forth the idea and has now outed a new Samsung Chromebook, juiced up with an ARM processor and packing rather modest specs. Nonetheless, the price tag is too sweet to ignore.

Compared to the last model of Chromebook, this new model is thinner and has far more enticing looks. It comes packed with an 11.6-inch display which is capable of running 1080p video. The RAM specs are pinned at 2GB which is rather modest for a notebook but still agreeable.

Moreover, it weighs a mere 2.5 pounds and has a battery that can run unabated for up to 6.5 hours. Naturally, the best part about this new Chromebook from Samsung is its price tag. Undercutting the price of most of the other notebooks in the arena, the new Chromebook costs a mere $249 which is definitely a low point for a notebook.

What is a tad bit disconcerting is that this notebooks packs a mere 16GB storage space which may prove too inadequate for the most of us, even when you could dump the bulk of your data in Google’s cloud. The good part, though, is that you can bump the storage space up to 64 GB by sweetening the deal with nearly $20 more.

The notebook lacks the option of enabling cellular connectivity which may make this an unacceptable companion when you are on the go. Nonetheless, for a wide range of stay-at-home notebook tasks, this may be the best deal you will get under of $250. The new Chromebook is already available for pre-orders which you can place right here.
