Alltel Launches LG Axis Smartphone for $89

Alltel has announced the LG Axis, the carrier’s version of the LG Ally which was previously released on Verizon Wireless.The device is now available from the carrier with a price tag of $89.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and a two year service contract.The LG Axis, by all appearances, seems to be a mid-tier offering, and both its specs and its pricing confirm that.

The mid-range device, which runs Android 2.1, comes equipped with a 3.2 inch touchscreen display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, along with a 3.2 megapixel camera with 4x zoom, autofocus and video recording

The LG Axis, which measures in at 4.56 x 2.22 x 0.62 inches and weighs 5.57 ounces, also features 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and a microSD card slot. A 1500 mAh battery is also available with the device.

You will also be able to enjoy the carrier’s “My Circle” feature that will allow you to do unlimited calling to and from any 5, 15 or 25 numbers on any network as well as unlimited text to their circle on select plans.

The LG Axis will be available on Alltel $89.99 after rebates and you will have to sign up to a two year mobile contract.
