Apple Striving To Have Samsung S III Blocked From U.S.

The patent fights between Samsung and Apple are nothing new. Earlier, there had been news that executives from both companies are due to meet to resolve these disagreements but apparently, nothing good has come of it and both are still involved in a rather childish fight, essentially hinging on to tiny things and very vague claims.

Apple has been trying to prove that Samsung has infringed its patents in the past and continues to do so. Rather than taking the challenge head-on and pitting its upcoming iPhone against Samsung’s big release this year, the Samsung Galaxy S III phone, Apple has chose another way.

The company has filed yet another case against Samsung, suing the latter and claiming that the new flagship Android device, Galaxy S III is infringing on at least two Apple patents. The two patents which Apple is trying to prove have been infringed by Smasung are related to data-tapping and unified search technologies.

Apple holds that it has the patent to both these technologies whereas Samsung, on the other hand, has stated that it hasn’t infringed either of these two patents and that Apple’s claims are empty air. The company released a statement saying, “Samsung believes Apple’s request is without merit. We will vigorously oppose the request and demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S III is innovative and distinctive.”

Galaxy S III is one of the those devices which customers have very dearly anticipated and now that the mobile is due to come in U.S., Apple is trying hard that it must not. Perhaps it’s about time that both companies grew up and tried more to focus on quality of their devices rather than trying to manipulate market conditions and beat the opponent that way.

I well understand why Apple is trying to block Galaxy S III in the US.I live in Italy and I had the opportunity to test the Galaxy S III smatphone comparatively against iPhone 4. It is really new and largely better than iPhone.
