Fujitsu Toshiba Brings IS12T, Japan’s First Windows Phone 7 Device

Fujitsu Toshiba just announces IS12T smartphone. And we must say that Japanese are the luckiest as Japan’s first Windows Phone 7 device going to hits their smartphone market. According to Microsoft prez Yasuyuki Higuchi, IS12T is the world’s first Mango handset.

Engadget says the sexy and IPX5 waterproof, 3.7-inch WVGA slate is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8655 CPU of undisclosed clock speed (which we’ve seen running at 1GHz in the Incredible 2 and Thunderbolt). It’s packs a 13.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and a 32GB of huge flash storage. The usual Bluetooth (2.1 + EDR) and WiFi (802.11b/g/n) and lot more. We expected for this phone goes on sale in September or beyond on KDDI’s au network.

Update:Microsoft announced that Windows Phone Mango is now code complete and released to manufacturing, which are now open for manufacturers and carriers to announce new devices worldwide. Microsoft revealed a number of devices earlier this month, including a new Samsung device which appears to be similar to the company’s Galaxy S II phone. Microsoft is also expected to release a new build of Windows Phone Mango to developers shortly, expect to hear news about this by the end of the week. Microsoft appears to have included a new gray Windows Phone theme for its Mango release and the theme colors are designed to match each handset’s look and feel. Microsoft’s currently developer preview build of Mango does not include a gray theme but the company’s final build (7720) includes the new style.
