Google May Release 5-Inch Nexus Smartphone With HTC

Google Nexus 7, made by Asus, has been a success. Now, the search giant is rumored to be planning to launch another Nexus device shortly. According to speculations, Google has teamed up with HTC, this time, to release a 5-inch smartphone before this year expires.


The device is said to be named “Nexus 5”, well in consistence with Google’s naming conventions for Nexus line-up. The purported device is said to be based on HTC’s DROID Incredible X smartphone.

The smartphone probably pack a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and has a 5-inch full HD display which can display 1080p video. It may come with Android 4.1.2. The device supports 4G LTE connectivity.It is said to have a 2,500 [mAh battery which can furnish significantly longer battery life compared to most contemporary devices. However, the specifications of the device, as well as its existence, are still not confirmed.

Moreover, the reported partnership between HTC and Google over the Nexus 5 smartphone is also only in speculation recently. But it does make sense, given the fact that HTC has been rolling out some of the best Android devices for quite some time. Either way, we’ll be able to know whether or not a Nexus 5 smartphone is set to arrive before the year-end.
