Huawei Unveils World’s Fastest 4G LTE Smartphone At MWC 2013

The MWC 2013 in Barcelona, Spain, has started. No doubt, we are going to see a lot of new devices in the trade show. On the very first day of MWC 2013, Chinese mobile maker Huawei has created a buzz. The company has unveiled the world’s fastest 4G LTE smartphone called Ascend P2.

Huawei Ascend P2

Huawei’s Ascend P2 is only 8.4mm slim and powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor with Huawei K3V2 Chipset. The phone runs Android 4.1 (JellyBean) OS with Huawi’s own Emtion UI (user interface) 1.5. It features a 4.7-inch 720p IPS HD touchscreen display with second-generation Corning® Gorilla® Glass, 13MP BSI rear-facing camera with HDR, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 16GB storage, NFC (this function is available in selected markets only) and more.

There is a dedicated camera key on the side of the phone, allowing instant access for taking picture. The screen also calibrates its brightness automatically under any light conditions, allowing users to perform any function, under any light. That means, high-definition images can be captured even in backlit conditions.

The phone comes with ‘magic touch’ feature that provides enhanced screen responsiveness even with gloves, and instant keyword translation. That’s not all. Through this smartphone, users can do Wikipedia searches on a single window with ‘smart reading’.

As Ascend P2 supports LTE Cat 4 communications, users can enjoy maximum download speed of 150Mbps on compatible networks. That means, the Ascend P2 can download HD movies in minutes, and upload online videos, web pages, songs or e-Books in seconds. Besides, Huawei’s proprietary ‘swift sharing’ supports uploads and downloads two to three times faster than other smartphones in a Wi-Fi environment.

Ascend P2 has a long-lasting 2420 mAh battery with a special feature called Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX), to reduce power consumption and charging time by more than 25% compared to other phones.

The Ascend P2 will be available in black and white. This smartphone will be available globally around the second quarter of 2013 and its price will be €399 or around $525. The device will first go on sale through Orange in France this June.
