PlayStation Phone Coming in Spring 2011

According to the report of Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun that Sony Ericsson’s PlayStation phone is set to launch in “spring of 2011″.Asahi Shimbun says that the PlayStation Phone — which could be known as the Zeus Z1, Xperia Play, or something else altogether by the time it’s on store shelves — is expected in the spring of 2011 for a North American and European release.

The publication goes on to state that the device will be “based on the PSPgo” and will “retain the PSP’s familiar gaming controls” — all of the leaked images and videos we’ve seen seem to confirm this as well.

The PS phone, which will be powered by Android, is rumored to boast a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, microSD slot, and a special Sony Marketplace portal.

Should Sony be about to launch the phone in the U.S., it could make an appearance at next week’s International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Sony typically uses the annual event to debut products and services that it plans to launch in the U.S. market in the first half of the year.Let’s see what happen.
