QWERTY BlackBerry 10 Phone May Launch In June 2013

We reported that two BlackBerry 10 smartphones will come in the first quarter of 2013. Users are eagerly waiting to see those. But the latest report says that RIM will not be releasing its QWERTY Blackberry 10 device before June 2013.

BlackBerry 10

RIM clearly announced that it will unveil its first BlackBerry 10-based devices on January 30 and the QWERTY version will come “shortly after.” But the fact is RIM hasn’t defined what “shortly after” means. Will it be launched in February? April? September?…. That’s not clear. On the other side, Boston-based research firm Detwiler Fenton has mentioned that RIM’s touch-screen version BlackBerry 10 smartphone will not come in the U.S. until March and hence the QWERTY version (full-keyboard version of the touch-screen version of BlackBerry 10) of BlackBerry 10 device won’t debut until June. Here is RIM’s statement on the timing of the launch:

“Details of the commercial availability for BlackBerry 10 will be announced at the global launch events on January 30. Our executives have made it clear that the touch screen device will be available shortly after launch with the physical keyboard version to follow shortly after that.”
