Restaurant Giving Discount For Not Using Cellphone

Imagine, you are eating food in a restaurant with someone/some people and that time your cellphone rings and you start talking. Or imagine, in a face to face conversation with some people, you called someone else and started talking to him/her over phone. What would be the reaction of others? I guess, you have got it. The entire mode could be spoiled or definitely it will interrupt/annoy people while someone gives priority to some other person while he/she is with others. It is really irritating. But, if you hear that just for handing over the cellphone at the restaurant’s reception while you eat, you will get 5% discount, what will you do?

Leave Your Phone At Restaurant's Desk - Get 5% Discount

Eva Restaurant is in Los Angeles, located at Beverly Blvd. Owner as well as chef Mark Gold runs this restaurant along with his wife, Alejandra. He found that it’s really annoying when people talk to phone or use their phone in messaging, tweeting or some other purposes while eating food. So he and his wife came up with a new idea.

If the people leave their phone at the restaurant’s reception desk for the entire time of the meal/dinner, then they will get a 5% discount on the food bill. Servers tell the offer to diners when they introduce themselves. This new policy has been started more than one month ago. Mark Gold and his wife Alejandra have found that 40% to 50% customers are doing so to grab the discount.

Gold said, “Eva is really about family and being at home. That’s what we want to exemplify. We just want people to connect again. They actually get really enthusiastic about it. I think people generally like the idea of being able to turn off their cell phones. They just haven’t been given the opportunity to or thought about it.”

If you haven’t gone there, you should go once. At least not for the discount, but for tasting the food. We have heard that, their foods are really tasty. If you go there or have already gone there, then don’t forget to share your experience with us.
