Samsung Galaxy S4 is the latest edition of Samsung Galaxy S series smartphone. In fact, it has been reported that Samsung Galaxy S4 is 2x faster than iPhone 5. However, recently Samsung has announced Galaxy S4 LTE-A, the world’s first LTE-Advanced smartphone. South Korean carrier SK Telecom is going to launch the Galaxy S4 LTE-A on its network.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A runs Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It features a 5-inch full HD Super ALMOED display capable of providing a resolution of 1920 x 800 pixels, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset, 2GB of RAM and the LTE-Advanced radios. It also packs a 13MP rear camera, a 2MP front facing camera, 32GB memory storage which can be expanded up to 64GB via standard micro SD slot and a 2,600mAh battery.
Apart from these features, the phone supports S Health, WatchON, S Translator, Smart Scroll and Smart Pause. The device will be available in Blue Arctic and Red Aurora, hitting shelves sometime this summer in Korea.
On the other hand, the LTE-A is the world’s first device which is able to connect to an LTE Advanced network, as well as containing Qualcomm’s newest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 800. LTE-Advanced works by combining different frequencies, and using them as one.
According to SK Telecom, LTE-Advanced is capable of data transfer rates of 150Mbps, roughly twice as fast as the 4G LTE speeds available in the United States and elsewhere, and 10 times faster than 3G. SK Telecom also said that it expects it would be able to provide network speeds of up to 500Mbps by 2015.
