Rumor: Sharp Will Deliver Earliest Apple HDTV LCDs To Foxconn In Q3

Apple TV and the notion that Apple will launch a TV set of its own did spur a lot of excitement in the tech world. But with time, this buzz has died since Apple seems to be either continuously postponing its plans regarding such a TV set or that all the prior rumors have been untrue and there really isn’t an Apple TV set. The second possibility seems quite unlikely.

Now, a rumor has surfaced regarding this Apple TV set. According to this new rumor, which has been stated by a Chinese website 21cbh, Apple’s long-time manufacturing partner Sharp has been producing LCD panels for a future AppleĀ  TV set. These LCD panels are about to be delivered to Foxconn, another of Apple’s eminent supply-chain members.

To be exact, the website claims, the panels will be shipped to Foxconn during the third quarter of this year. The publication claims that this information has been divulged by a Sharp executive.

It further claims that this Sharp executive also said that Apple TV will be available before the holiday shopping season this year. Ideally, it would be a perfect time for Apple to launch a TV set of its own. Moreover, we are really anxious as to know what kind of hardware and features this TV set is going to pack. Coming from Apple, it has to be something extra-ordinary.
