SanDisk Unveiled 512GB SD Card, World’s Biggest SD Card

American company SanDisk unveiled its first 512MB SD card in 2003. And lately, 11 years later, the company has unveiled 512GB SD card, the biggest SD card of the world.

The new SD card measures 0.94-inch x 1.25-inch x 0.08-inch (24 mm x 32 mm x 2.1 mm). SanDisk claims the 512GB Extreme Pro SDXC cards are waterproof, shockproof and x-ray-proof, and most importantly, it will still work after being run over by a five-ton truck. The SD card can shoot at a speeds of up to 90MB/s and can transfer data at up to 95 MB/s speed. It can also capture video at super-fast UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) without any interruption. The SDXC format can support up to 2TB of flash.

SanDisk has mentioned that the new SD cards have been “designed to meet the demands of industry professionals who require the most advanced gear available for shooting 4K Ultra High Definition (3,840 x 2,160p) video, Full HD video (1,920 x 1,080) and high-speed burst mode photography.”

This 512GB SD card comes with a whopping price of $800. Besides, there are also 128GB and 256GB SD cards which cost $200 and $400, respectively.
