According To Study, iPad Usage Nearly Quadrupled In 2011

With iPad tablets fast replacing the PCs around the world, especially among the business community, it’s usage has increased dramatically. Now, a study has revealed the the usage of this tablet by Apple has nearly quadrupled among the small business market during 2011. This has been revealed in a recent study by The Business Journal. According to the journal, Apple’s iPad tablet is, “the fastest growing technology among the SMB market.”


Here are the hard facts which do seem to affirm the claim that has been put forth by The Business Journal. The usage of iPad tablets in SMBs has grown from 9 percent in 2010 to 34 percent in 2011. At the same time, the rate of iPad familiarity has also risen sharply. Now, some 75 percent of small business owners claim that they are somehow familiar with the tablet.

The Vice President of Research at The Business Journal, Godfrey Phillips states that this may be the dawn of an all new trends, a kind of a paradigm shift for the market, “Our research has shown that for SMB owners, productivity and efficiency, which used to be the central benefits of technology, are now declining in importance compared to accessibility. Now, it’s crucial that business owners have access to their business information and data, anytime and anywhere. The iPad, as well as smartphones and cloud computing, are all part of this new trend and are experiencing significant growth as a result of that need.”

The study also gauged that in what ways has the use of iPad benefited the users and it concludes that iPad users are ‘tech-savvy and financially successful.’ A total of 1400 business owners were surveyed during the study.
