Google announced the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet only operating system at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011. The Nook Color (from Barnes & Noble) started life as a simple color e-book reader, but back in December last year an XDA-developer member hacked the device to unlock its true potential.
Actually, one XDA-forum developer has successfully managed to port the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb to NookColor using SDK of Android 3.0 Honeycomb preview build that was released few days back. Also, according to the developer’s plan, he wants to work on graphics acceleration next, to improve performance over over the weekend so that Motorola XOOM, the tablet that supposed to be the ship that sails on winds of Honeycombs, might appear to be an ancient artifact by the time it’s released!

A couple of hours after that, other folks downloaded the code Honeycook used to port the Honeycomb on Nook Color and added graphic acceleration to the port. This clearly shows how flexible Android 3.0 Honeycomb is when it is to be installed on tablet level hardware. Check the video of Nook Color with Graphics Acceleration below:
