App Analytics Point At A New iPad Running A6-Chip Variation

According to Macrumors, the analytics for an iOS application have brought evidence of a new iPad codenamed “iPad3,6”. The third generation iPads on the market now are labeled “iPad3,1” through “iPad3,3” for various versions. Hence, it’s unknown what exactly the “iPad 3,6” happens to be. The appearance of a new iPad version in app analytics gives some backing to early rumors of an iPad Mini and updated iPad 3 launch this October.

New iPad

The variation of the A6 chip derived for the unknown “iPad3,6” runs on the new ARMv7 architecture, chips found within the recently released iPhone 5. Apple wouldn’t, presumably, launch two iPads on the same year. This iPad “3,6” is probably next year’s 9″ model in the early testing phases.

Speculation has pointed that the iPad Mini would be launched later this month, but unfortunately this prototype doesn’t seem to fit the description of the mini-sized iPad. Later this month Apple may release an iPad Mini, but the device is expected to be a derivative of the iPad 2. Furthermore, the iPad Mini has been located in the logs prior to this point as “iPad2,6” with an A5 SoC.

The iPad Mini invitations are anticipated to be passed out on October 10th. So, we will have to wait and find the truth behind this new iPad.
