Apple Shop At London’s Harrods Will Debut With The Launch Of New iPad

It was reported earlier that that Apple’s Shop at Harrods Department, London will expectedly open up in March this year. It now seems that the actual plans were to open the store to coincide it precisely with the launch of the new iPad. And this has now been affirmed by a recent announcement from Harrods Department store.

The new section of the store which will be featuring Apple’s product is being termed Harrods Technology Department. However, the store will officially open at 10 a.m. on Friday. This essentially means that while other Apple Stores around the world will start handing out the new iPad tablets at 8 a.m. on Friday, Harrods Technology Department will start doing so only at 10 a.m.

A number of other tech giants such as Sony, LG, and Samsung already have their presence at the famed Harrods Department. Apple will now join the list on the third floor of the store.

What is intriguing is that it seems Apple will not have a proper, separate retail space of its own since the place is not being called ‘Apple Store.’ Rather, Harrods Department folks are calling it the ‘Apple Shop’ which is clearly not the name Apple uses for its own retail spaces. Either way, what is pretty obvious is that the store will have the new iPad available and U.K. customers can happily line up in front of the Harrods Department to lay their hands on the new iPad.
