Asus has confirmed that the new Eee Pad Memo tablet will come with Android 3.0 Honeycomb and the full specifications on this new Android tablet from Asus has leaked. Participating in CeBIT 2011 exhibition, ASUS has recently unveiled the full specifications of its latest tablet, the Asus Eee Pad MeMO.
The Asus Eee Pad MeMO tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 processor, 1GB of SDRAM, and 8GB to 64GB flash storage.
This Asus Eee Pad MeMO Honeycomb tablet has brings MicroHDMI slot for connecting to an external monitor or TV, two cameras (5MP and 1.2MP), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, HSPA+, GPS, proximity and light sensors, G-sensor, a digital compass, a MicroSD card slot, built-in stylus, and MicroUSB port.
Dimensions of Eee Pad MeMO are 197 x 117 x 11.5 mm and weight about 389.16 grams. Its battery is enabling up to 8 hours of video playback.
No prices or release date have been announced but expect to find out soon.

Wow, what specs. Honeycomb, SD slot, stylus, HMDI, USB, Bluetooth, flash, GPS, 2 cameras, etc. Nice. But wait, there’s more. A phone! RIM touts that the Playbook plays nice with their phones. The MeMo actually comes with a phone – a cool one at that.
Apple’s Jobs says the 7″ form factor is dead on arrival. The MeMo will put that theory to a real test. Before that test begins, first try putting your Ipad into your jacket pocket or your purse. No way Jose. Ipads are great for lazy boy recliner web surfing but what about the other 10 to 16 hours a day when we leave our nests and venture out to work or play. Lugging an Ipad along is, at best, awkward – might as well lug a notebook or a small laptop. The MeMo has the potential to be the one box solution to just about any communication need when on the go. And, by the way, at home when I want to eRead the latest John Grisham tome, the MeMo looks much closer to paperback size than an Ipad – I’am just saying…..
Hopefully the CNET, PC World, Gizmodo, etc. reviewers will soon subject the MeMo to realistic testing to see if it lives up to its mega potential. The other big question is Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile pricing on this much more than a smartphone type gadget. Hopefully their greed will not squash what could be – dare I say what so many others have so far incorrectly said – a real Ipad killer. Actually no, not a killer. The Ipad is way beyond killing. Instead the MeMo could be a significant challenger for at least one segment of the rapidly expanding tablet market. Can’t wait for round one of the Ipad vs MeMo bout.
