HTC Flyer Android Tablet To Launch In March

Digitimes has reported that HTC is planning to launch three tablet PCs in the first half of 2011.The first wave of HTC trio of tablets will include the HTC Flyer and two other unnamed tablets.According to the same source, the HTC Flyer looks like an enlarged version of the HTC Desire.

The tablet will feature a 7-inch, 1024×600 resolution display, identical to the current Galaxy Tab, Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor as found in the Desire HD, HDMI port, DLNA support for wireless streaming, 5.0 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and facial recognition, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat with Skype preinstalled, a new version of Sense with a “desktop” feel with HSPA support.

A 10-inch tablet version is also in development to compete with the iPad and will feature LTE support with availability in stores sometime in the second half of the year.

Though this is a rumor, it seems to be quite credible considering the past leaks by Digitimes. Launching an Android tablet is also the logical next step for HTC. It may unveil the tablets at Mobile World Congress in February.
