Manatee Stand Allows Using iPad In Bed

We have seen a number of iPad stands, some of them with very creative designs, over the past few years. However, nearly none has been specifically tailored for using iPad in bed. Manatee iPad stand intends to cater to this niche by envisioning an iPad stand which can easily be angled so that you can watch movies and work on it while resting cozy in your bed.

While one of the best things about a tablet is that you can carry it around and use it at your leisure, given its portability, it may still be a pain to use it while laying down on your bed. Try holding it above your head for a few minutes and those muscles in your arms start paining.

Manatee intends to solve this issue once and for all. It’s a fun iPad stand in which you can affix your iPad and then ‘mould’ the stand to whatever angle you wish. This essentially means that you can watch a movie on your iPad at all the odd angles from the comfort of your bed.

The stand comprises of a base and an arm. The base can be placed on the floor or fixed between the mattress and the boxspring. It comes with feet which grip staunchly to the floor, thus keeping your stand firmly in place.

The flexible arm ends in frame with silicon holders into which you place your iPad. The arm comprises of a pivot head which comes with a maple ball that allows you to rotate it about its axis, thus giving the frame adequate flexibility for adjustment.

Currently, the company is seeking funds to create the stand on a commercial scale. For this purpose, it has launched a Kickstarter project which aims to raise $17,900 of which it has already achieved $6879. If you have a knack of using your iPad in bed, you may want to get on that bandwagon. You can watch the video below to know more about the useful
