MSP Airport Authority Bringing 2,500 iPad For Travelers

Waiting for your flight at an airport? What better way to while away your time than to access an airport-provided iPad for free and play games, check email and Facebook and place food orders on it. This is precisely what travelers at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) are about to get.

The use of iPad tablets has tremendously increased in such ventures. From airlines to entire organizations, the tablet is not only preferred but is actively deployed since it is light, provides a decently high functionality and is easy to move around.

MSP Airports has plans of becoming a part of the list of iPad-using organizations soon. The plan is to deploy a total of 2,500 iPad tablets at the airport. These will be tethered iPad tablets and travelers present at the airport will be able to use them for free.

These travelers can then use the tablets to place orders for food to be delivered right at their seat on the terminal. They can accomplish a whole lot of other things on the tablet. For instance, they can play games, check their email, surf Facebook and even check a number of pre-loaded websites. With the help of these iPad tablets, user can also get information regarding flight status.

According to the CEO of OTG, the company under whose management this airport falls, “We believe this to be the largest deployment of consumer-facing iPad in the world, and for us, it’s just the beginning. We have plans to roll out thousands of additional iPad at other airports around the United States and the world. Technology is an important complement to the customer service experience.”
