Apart from packing stunning looks, Pencil comes with a built-in rechargeable battery that can last for nearly a month under normal use. The stylus connects with iPad via Bluetooth and also has a built-in eraser tool.

You are able to access the trial version of a number of paid, premium features of the Paper app once you purchase Pencil. This includes access to Paper add-ons such as Color Mixer, sketch and outline tools.

The true magic of Pencil is realized when it is used in conjunction with the Paper app. However, even if you don’t want to use it with the app, it works perfectly well as a stylus for virtually any touchscreen device. The graphite bodied version of Pencil costs $49.95 whereas another version which is walnut bodied and packs a magnetic snap is priced at $59.95.

According to FiftyThree, Pencil works fine with all Retina-display iPad slates as well as the iPad Mini. For iPad 2 owners, sadly this means that they can’t make use of the stylus. To purchase the ultra-cool stylus, navigate to the official FiftyThree website and place your order.
