Nexus 7 First To Get Android 4.3, Coming On July 30 From $229

The new Nexus 7 tablet is already available for pre-order. The Nexus 7 tablet is running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) operating system, and is the first device to get the new version of Android. Android 4.3 has been announced yesterday at Google’s special event in San Francisco. The new Android will also be coming to other Google Nexus devices.

Google executive Huga Barra said, “Google’s Nexus family of devices will be the first to get the new version of Jellybean Android 4.3, but the Google Play Edition phones will have to wait a little while”. Barra didn’t mention when other Google devices can expect to get the new version of Android. The Google Play editions of the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One will get the software “soon,” he said.

On the other hand, three new Droid smartphones were announced Tuesday for Verizon Wireless’ network ahead of the anticipated Moto X launch. Hence, Google may bring the new version of Android for the new Droids before the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One. Although there are many eager Google fans, which also includes me, are still waiting for Key Lime Pie.

The key features of the new Nexus 7 includes a HD screen with 1,920×1,200 pixels resolution, 1.2 MP front and 5.0 MP rear cameras, connectivity such as dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. Powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU, also used in the Samsung Galaxy S4. There’s support for wireless charging using any Qi-compatible charger also.

You can pre-order this device right now on Google Play. The 16GB Wi-Fi-only model is priced at $229, the other 32GB Wi-Fi-only model is for $269 and a 32GB 4G LTE version will retail for $349.
