Opera Teases a Tablet Browser

Opera has released a video demonstrating a new browser created specifically for tablet devices. At the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2011, Opera Software will unveil the first public preview of Opera for tablets. Whether it’s checking email, managing social networks or surfing the net, Opera’s specialized browser for tablets provides you with the smoothest tablet and netbook experience on the market.

The “Opera for Tablets” preview video, released on YouTube, is demoed on an Android device, and primarily acts as a sneak peek. When it comes to iOS, there’s no mention of the iPad in the video, on their website, or in any of their releases.

Opera does currently have an iPhone version of their browser in the App Store, so we suspect that we’ll soon be seeing an iPad equivalent as well. After all, how can an application be called “Opera for Tablets” if they don’t plan on releasing software for the most successful tablet to date.
