Rumor Of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Processor Update Was False

A rumor was swirling around the web yesterday about a temporary halt of production for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Reports suggested that the reason behind the  halt was to upgrade the processor from dual-core to quad-core ones just before the week of the tablets official launch date in the US. Doesn’t make any sense, right? Well, it didn’t.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Yesterday, a rumor about processor upgrade on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (internally code named ‘Espresso’) was circulating around the web. Reportedly, Samsung postponed the production of its yet to be released Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablets to upgrade the processors. Rumors were that the new processors will be quad-cores instead of the showcased dual-cores. That was definitely weird! Why would a company like Samsung suddenly change its swing on a product which it plans to launch commercially next week? Luckily, our hunch right. It was just another baseless rumor, as confirmed by netbooknews.com later on. According to a clarification issued from Samsung, “The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will come to market worldwide as planned with a dual-core processor. Rumors about production delays or changes to the product are false.”
