Audi To Develop An Electric Car That Will Go 280 Miles Per Charge, Coming In 2017

German automobile manufacturer Audi has decided to develop such an electric car that will go 280 miles or 450 kilometers per full charge. I repeat, “280 miles per (full) charge!” Must say – let the revolution begin.

Audi Car

This electric car by Audi, which is currently “under development” and will be coming in 2017, will be a family car. The car is expected to be a Sedan and will have a saloon style body. The car will borrow technology from Audi’s made-to-order R8 e-tron hybrid car.

Ulrich Hackenberg, technical development chief of Audi said, “I was able to reengineer the R8 e-tron project and technology with the team and we are on the way to a range of 450km (280 miles). It is under development and will be in the market for around 2017 but it will not be a sports car.

Surely, this car will be rival of “Tesla Model S.” Audi has plans to bring the tech to other cars in its range. Will the company’s first true consumer EV will be a modified version of an existing car or an all-new model? Audi is remaining coy for now, but expect to hear a lot more about the EV before it launches in 2017.
