Google Puts Palestine On The Digital Map

For long, Palestine has been treated by many international bodies as a non-independent nation. Even when users visited www.google.ps, they would reach a page which mentioned ‘Palestinian Territories.’ Thankfully, the search giant has now formally recognized Palestine.

Google Palestine

If you visit www.google.ps now, you will note that rather than mentioning ‘Palestinian Territories’, the page mentions ‘Palestine.’ This shouldn’t be a surprise, given the fact that U.N. has already given Palestine the status of a non-member observer state.

With this status, Palestine can finally participate in UN debates and reach out to International Criminal Court when need be. Naturally, Israel bitterly opposed the move but thanks to the international support, Palestine was able to secure the status.

In view of this, it makes sense that Google has also decided to put the state on its digital map. As soon as the company made the change, Israel started its outcry. Israel’s foreign minister released an angry statement, saying, “This change raises questions about the reasons behind this surprising involvement of what is basically a private Internet company in international politics.”

On the other hand, Palestinians were very happy to learn of the change and eulogized Google’s decision. According to Palestine President’s advisor, Dr. Sabri Saidam, “This is a step in the right direction, a timely step and one that encourages others to join in and give the right definition and name for Palestine instead of Palestinian territories. Most of the traffic that happens now happens in the virtual world and this means putting Palestine on the virtual map as well as on the geographic maps.”

The zionist extremist government in Israel is completely out of control and they seem to be the most hateful people on the face of the earth.

They even brutalize and imprison Jewish citizens who protest their actions.

Google was only following the status change the U.N. made.

But sure, go ahead, blame Eric Schmidt and friends since you ran out of ways to defend your genocidal bullshit.
