BandPage Has Half A Million Musicians On Facebook

Facebook has many apps which are successful especially the ones in games are much used. But this time, another major app from Facebook is emerging successfully and it is BandPage which is the number one app for artists to stream and promote music to their fans on the social network. It now has more than 500,000 musician Pages and it has doubled since the last six months according to TechCrunch. Previously, MySpace was more thoroughly used by the musicians to do this, but now the focus has shifted again to the social network of Facebook and the opportunities it presents to the musicians.

They have realized it and have started using BandPage to promote their talented work. Recently, BandPage announced more new features that it would be adding. These new features would allow listeners to share with friends their favourite songs now through their Timeline and the Ticker feed just with a single click of a button. Already sharing favourite music through Spotify was making a way ahead with the users on Facebook and now more musical sharing can be done through the BandPage directly.

The reason that Spotify succeeded in getting all musical buzz for the users through its platform is because it published to Ticker which helped it grow immensely. Now that BandPage is using the same Ticker method, it can experience rapid growth too. It is also releasing updates in its features that will let both the musicians and the fans remain on the spot. Besides this, BandPage is also working on another strategy that will help musicians gather fans and spread their music. They have made it interactive with the fans being able to post their favourite songs and update about the concert tours they want to go to and are going to.

Through this, the bands can also share about what they have been jamming out on mostly. Hence, a compact musical community can emerge on Facebook through BandPage. It recently renamed its product from ‘RootMusic BandPage’ to simply being ‘BandPage’ and has been able to raise $18.3 million through which it is paying cost of engineering, marketing and product development. BandPage is also setting a concert that will go on for ten days non-stop.
