Facebook Introduces New ‘Listen’ Button On The Pages Of Musicians

Facebook has been trying to put itself at the heart of online music services. It has been trying to introduce newer ways to engage users and make music-listening a more social experience. Now, the social network has introduced a new ‘Listen’ button the page of music artists.

So what does this new button do? Well, the button is located between ‘like’ and ‘messages’ buttons on the fan pages. When a user clicks on the ‘Listen’ button, he is then guided by Facebook to any music streaming services that the user has signed up for.

This is Facebook’s attempt to indulge the users more when visiting the pages of music artists. Moreover, it is also a more direct and engaging way of redirecting the users to access the music streaming services such as Rdio and Spotify more frequently. We can expect Facebook to introduce even more features to make music-listening a more relevant experience when using the social network.

Facebook also introduced the ‘listen with’ button earlier, which was also related to the music-listening experience on Facebook. However, the ‘listen with’ button was created for Open Graph’s Timeline apps and was actually created by the streaming services.
