How To Use Facebook Live From Your Desktop PC

Facebook Live” video streaming is a fun and engaging way to connect with friends and family members or audience.  Now you can “Go Live” on Facebook from your PC or laptop. You can also share your “Gameplay” or “Desktop screen”. It’s pretty easy to do this.

Facebook Live has gained popularity very quickly. In the first stage, only iOS and Android user could use this feature on “Facebook pages”. But now desktop and laptop user or anyone on his/her Facebook account can also use LIVE feature. If you are using a laptop then you can use internal mic and webcam. The desktop user has to use external mic and webcam. In desktop and laptop, you can also stream your gameplay or share your screen. To get started check the steps below:

Facebook Live Video

If you want to broadcast your live video using webcam then use this method. It is very easy and you don’t need any extra software.

Step 1: Go to www.facbook.com and click on “Live Video” on the status posting box.

Step 2: Now write something about the video. Then select your privacy “Public” or “Friend” and click on “Go Live”. That’s it.

If you want to use “External Webcam” or “Camera source” then follow the second method.

Gameplay and Screen Sharing

In this method, you can share your desktop screen or gameplay. But make sure that you have “Live Stream Encoding Software” installed in you PC or laptop.

Step 1: At first Go to https://www.facebook.com/live/create

Step 2: Click on “Create Live Stream”.

Step 3: Choose where you want to post this. You can post this to your Timeline, a group, an event, a Page or a friend’s Timeline. Then click “Next”.

Step 4: Now copy the “Server URL” and “Stream Key”. Then paste those codes to the settings on “Live Stream Encoding Software”.

Note: If you don’t know where to paste those codes or don’t know anything about “Live Stream Encoding Software” then check from here.

Step 5: Now write something about the video. Write the “Video Title” and “Video Game” tag.

Step 6: Choose your privacy “Public” or “Friends” then click on “Go Live”. That’s it.

Important Note: Don’t share your stream key to anyone. This stream key is only valid for 7 days.
