Facebook Not In Talks With Apple Or Microsoft Over Facebook Home Integration

Facebook Home, a free software that shows users the latest updates from their friends and enables users to reply them without having to open a separate app, was announced on April 4. The Facebook Home for Android was released formally on April 12. Recently, some websites have reported that Facebook was in talks with Apple and Microsoft over Facebook Home integration into iPhone and Windows Phone. But it’s not true.

Facebook Home

At a news conference on April 4, Mark Zuckerberg, the world’s most liked CEO and the co-founder of Facebook, unveiled Facebook Home. This free software is able to put users’ News Feed right on the Lock screen of selected Android smartphone.

During the revelation of Facebook Home, Mark Zuckerberg said that he would like to see the Facebook experience integrated into every device, but that would require partnerships. At that time Zuckerberg said, “Anything that happens with Apple is going to happen with partnership. Google’s Android is open so we don’t have to work with them.”

Later, some websites like Bloomberg, CNET, Gizmodo, and iDownload Blog have reported that Facebook is in talks with Apple and possibly with Microsoft to bring Facebook Home to iPhone and Windows Phone. Adam Mosseri, Facebook’s director of product, mentioned that Facebook was having “an ongoing conversation” and nothing had been “finalized.”

But recently a source inside Facebook, familiar with the discussions, have mentioned that the social network is neither “in talks” with Apple nor Microsoft in order to expand the Facebook Home platform.
