Twitter Introduces Some Changes To Its User Interface

Recently Twitter introduced an all new version of the ‘Discover’ feature. Well, it seems that the company is on a roll for improvements and has also introduced a number of changes to the basic UI of Twitter.com. Although these changes were not announced, some have been quick enough to spot them.

The changes that have been introduced are essentially quite small and you may not even notice them at first. For instance, the links that used to be present at the bottom of a tweet are no longer there. To use them, you have to hover the cursor over the tweet and then these links appear which you can then make use of.

Twitter has also changed how such tweets which contain media will be interacted with. According to the official post, “If the Tweet contains media, you’ll also see specific options like “View photo” or “View video”; otherwise, you’ll see the option to “Expand”. You can expand any Tweet in your timeline to see inline context like favorites or retweets from other people, or additional Tweets from that same conversation.”

With the option of discerning how many people on your contact list have retweeted or favorited any given media is a very interesting feature, and a very useful too. According to the company, this latest iteration of the user interface has been able to attract maximum level of engagement from the users and hence is very successful.

Finally, Twitter is now also displaying the conversations between your friends and other such people you don’t directly follow. Earlier, Twitter would filter out such conversations but now you are able to view them.
