User Address And Email Will Be Identical On Facebook

Looking random people up on Facebook, even when their profiles are public, can prove to be quite difficult at times. In a bid to improve the process of searching people on the social network and to make discovery easier, Facebook has now announced that it will be updating the addresses of the users. This will be done to make it easier to discover others and connect to them.

Facebook team recently announced this move which will require it to update all the address of the its millions of users, ‘Starting today, we’re updating addresses on Facebook to make them consistent across our site. Now, the address people use to get to your timeline and send you email on Facebook will be the same.’

This update may not seem very significant but it can prove very instrumental for people interacting via Facebook. For instance, if you know the public profile of a person but somehow don’t know how to email that person, you will be able to send an email to the username in the profile link. On the flip side of it, if you already know a person’s Facebook email and send that person emails, you can quite easily find his or her profile on the website by punching in his username from the email address in his profile link.

However, such users who already have an email address won’t be affected by this. So if you already own a Facebook email id, you need not worry about this update.
