Facebook has been criticized in the past for its privacy policies and the social network has been trying to improve this by making its privacy policies more transparent and open. Specifically, Facebook has been trying to take its billion-strong users into confidence so that they can know and understand about the changes in privacy policy.
One of the best things that Facebook has adopted over time is that it has started asking users to vote on its new privacy changes and decide whether or not they like the changes.
Facebook implemented a fresh round of privacy policy changes just ahead of its IPO. Now, Facebook is asking the users to cast their vote regarding these changes and to tell the social network whether or not you, as a Facebook user, like the new changes.
The polls are open now and you can cast your vote. The voting will close on June 8th. However, the one condition for the voting to be binding for Facebook is that at least 30 percent users must participate in it and express their opinion, a condition which seems quite fair.
According to the communications vice president of Facebook, Elliot Schrage, “Today we are posting the proposed revised versions of both documents and asking you to join our second global site governance vote. We strongly encourage you to participate.”
