LulzSec Hacker “Ryan Cleary” Admits His Cyber Crimes

LulzSec is a well-known and rather notorious group of hackers. Whereas ‘Anonymous’ seems to stick to at least some kind of objectives and goals, LulzSec doesn’t since the basic philosophy behind this group is to do hack for the sake of ‘lulz’, in other words for sheer fun and thrill. Now, a LulzSec hacker, Ryan Cleary, has pleased guilty to a number of hacks.

According to the confession,  Cleary admitted that he, along with a fellow hacker Jake Davis aged 19, broke into a whole lot of websites. These included websites of some major institutions in U.S. as well as Britain.

Among the victims of their hacks are Arizona State Police, News International, Nintendo, Sony and others. The chief mode of attack adopted by Cleary was the usual DDoS attacks which can make a website crash due to a traffic overload.

In total, Cleary confessed to four charges. These include hacking into US Air Force Agency computers at Pentagon, a move which naturally alarmed the authorities. However, Cleary and Davis refused to admit that they unlawfully posted confidential computer data anywhere online. According to them, they never indulged in such a practice as pasting confidential data on websites such as Pirate Bay, Paste Bin etc.

Two other hackers have been alleged of collaborating with Cleary in DDoS attacks but they have denied any involvement. A number of other hackers were tried, some of which were guilty. It so seems that the authorities are taking a stricter stance towards cyber hackers since these hackers are becoming increasingly active online.
