YouTube has broken record with more than one billion unique users on the site, every month. Google’s video hosting service announced this information for the first time. Although Google hasn’t unveiled the number of visitors to the site in January, the company has revealed that people had watched a total of 4 billion hours of YouTube per month.

YouTube is not only used by the viewers but also used by the content creators who are creating videos at a growing rate. According to YouTube, “There are thousands of channels have been created and every single one of the Ad Age top 100 brands have run advertising campaigns on the site.”

Google’s advertising research director Gunnard Johnson wrote, “The way people consume content is changing. For the first time, an entire generation has grown up watching content on their own terms.”

According to Adwords Agency, the number of Generation C (defined by the Internet, mobile, and social – consuming content when and where they want) viewers who watch YouTube on their smartphones is now equal to the PC view.
