Chinese Artist Makes Transformers Character Based Theme Park

If I pronounce the name(s) Optimus Prime, Autobots, Cybertron, Decepticons, Megatron etc. anyone will understand I’m talking about Steven Spielberg‘s box office hit movie ‘Transformers’ or its sequels. It was released in 2007. The performance and outlook of Transformers enchanted all. Inspired by the outlook of computer animated Transformers, a Chinese artist has created Transformers Theme Park. There is more than 600 Transformers inspired sculptures. From a distance, it seems that, Optimus Prime, Bumble Bee are waiting for their hero.

Building a park of iron sculptures is Zhu Kefeng’s dream that he saw ten years ago. This 49 year old artist Zhu Kefeng and his team has made finally a theme park in Jiaxing City, which is filled with Transformers shaped alike sculptures. The name of this theme park is Mr. Iron Robot Theme Park. This theme park is in China’s Zhejiang province.

Since childhood Zhu Kefeng was fond of playing with metal. He used to recycle the metal (iron) and turn them into a new thing. He started working on Mr. Iron Robot theme park in 2010. And guess what? Zhu and his team build the 225-hectare theme park just by recycling the dumped iron and steel parts.

At first, Zhu made realistic model of a car with iron sheet. Later, he opened a studio and began to create intricate sculptures of bigger size. People were inspiring him. So, he made a recycle bin for people to donate discarded metal parts. All the iron and steel materials used in Transformers shaped sculptures were from his recycle bin. The wasted materials were from used cars, gears and old machines. According to his version, each sculpture has its own character which cannot be duplicated.

“I still remember the joy I felt when playing with iron toys during my childhood, and I wanted to share that joy with children so I decided to build a theme park. The joy shared with others is even more enjoyable. China is moving towards automobile era, there are so many wasted cars every year. I hope the park provides the visitors, especially the children, not only happiness, but also the spirits of green development and environment protection.” Zhu Kefeng said.

The whole theme park displays human civilization from the Stone Age to the 21st century. If you get chance, then you should visit the Mr. Iron Robot Theme Park. For more, click here. If you visit the park, don’t forget to share your experience with us.
